Moscow, Red House

Moscou maison rouge This pastel represents the inside courtyard of Goncharova’s Moscow house at n° 3 Trekhprudny pereulok where she and Larionov had studios. The buildings in question are still partly visible from the courtyard today. Archive photos give a somewhat different view comprising one of the two buildings in the pastel, a building that has since disappeared.

Illustrated on p. 82 of the catalogue.
