Deux arbres

For stylistic reasons (grouping of the figurative elements, forms and bands of colour), this composition of two trees may be regarded as a direct forerunner of the oil (189 x 82,5 cm) now in the collection of the Petit Palais Museum in Geneva (see the illustration below).

The provenance and authenticity of this oil have long been attested.
