Woman’s Face

Visage de femme
Illustrated on p.127 of the catalogue

Larionov’s ink sketches include a number of moving portraits of Goncharova, each representing a different vision of the artist’s companion. Some are extremely dramatic. Goncharova is known to have had severe bouts of depression around this time, which the portraits capture beautifully.
